Doubles Practice Class:

This is an EXTRA class IN ADDITION to the regular lesson groups, for kids that really want to be able to play REAL doubles matches. We will practice a lot of serves and doubles positioning/rotations and play lots of supervised practice doubles matches. (These groups are best for intermediate or advanced players, but highly motivated beginners are welcome to give it a try.)

Ages 8-10: Tuesdays (June 9th-July 7th) 8:45-9:30

Ages 11-14: Fridays (June 12th-July 10th) 10:00-10:55

Cost: $50

Junior Serve Club:

An new/old program designed to motivate kids to come to the courts and practice on their own. We have hundreds of practice balls to loan them and we will chart their progress on the tennis hut wall as they strive towards 1,000 serves or more.

There is no fee to participate, and to sign-up kids can just come to the tennis hut anytime after Memorial Day, hit their first basket of balls, and get their name on the chart!

Private Lessons:

Head Pro Gordon Kay is available for private lessons every day but Saturdays, Mid-May through mid-October.

Fees are $75/hour, $40/half-hour.

Tennis Racquets:

If you do not have a racquet for your child, or if you are unsure the racquet is the correct size, please contact Gordon asap. He will be happy to order one for you or make sure it is the correct size. He can also replace old grips.

General guidelines for sizes are:

4-5 yrs: 21", 6-8 yrs: 23", 9-10 yrs: 25", 11 and over: 27" (regular adult size)

If you do buy a jr racquet on your own, purchase only Wilson, Head, or Babolat. Do NOT buy Prince junior racquets, or any of the even cheaper brands, as they all have terrible strings and are basically worthless. Also, do NOT buy an adult racquet from Dick's, as their prices aren't so great and almost every adult racquet they carry is an "extra long" (more than 27"), which makes learning tennis more difficult! Again, contact Gordon for assistance.

Junior Club Championships:

This summer, we are bringing back our singles competitions with both boy’s and girl’s divisions in 10 & under, 12 & under, and 14 & under. Days and times TBA but the dates will be between July 13th and 17th. Cost $15.
